Desire', my sister, has Rett Syndrome. And let me tell you, if she were typical, she would completly outshine me in every area of life, not just the ones she does already =P
She is a gorgeous, tom-boy heart-breaker with an attitude and love for anything girly. I don't know how she does it, but she does. Oh, and did I mention that she is completly boy-crazy? Haha, I can't forget that!

This picture is of my sister and me when we were younger. Desire' is to the left and I, Alyshia, and to the right. I'm about three years older than her.

She absolutly loves to swim. If she could, she would live in the water! So, I put us on a dock.

I also put us both in purple shirts because that specific shade is the Rett Syndrome support color

As a last note, I just recently had a minor surgery on my right arm, so I apologize for the lack of my tipical... decency. This is rather crude, but it gets my point across. You see, I just found this delightful contest: http://www.doink.com/topic/2041.

Thanks for the information on Retts, I didn't know anything about it and that link was helpful. This animation is beautiful and such a sweet tribute to your Sister, this is so well done.

It must be very cool to have a sibling like this... I know a few people with autism and similar cases, and they are so amazing people. They really warm up my day every time I see them.

Haha, Desire' is such a goof. I love her dearly.
It's interesting to think that if she were tipical, I'm sure we would bicker like other siblings. Because of her disability, though, we get along wonderfuly. God knew what He was doing =P

Just a few years ago, only a select few knew what Rett Syndrome was. But now awareness is beginning to spread. Thank you for reading about it!

this is awesome! I love it! but, how can she be a tomboy and still love any thing girly? does she like both worms AND pink or something? lol! any ways, its a very sweet picture, and I love it!

Haha! Well, it's more like she loves to dress up and paint her nails, yet she's the first one to shout, "YEAH!" when a guy in a movie gets ripped to pieces. She also makes sports and flirting work, too. Hehe, my sister =P
