Hurray! I was up until midnight! And I did some this morning.
Pause if you have too.
Creature: Mercrians
Starting from the head, down.
Ears: Male ears are pointed, female are rounded. They have exellent hearing.
Hair:Temperatures on Mercury can be extreme, also at night the temperature can be freezing. They don't have much fur/hair, just a patch on top to keep their heat in.
Eyes:The black lining around their eyes keeps the sunlght from reflecting off of their cheekbones into their eyes.
Skin: Skin is drakened or red-ish. This helps the skin with stand the harmful sun rays and from burning up. Females' skin tends to be even darker than the males'.
Mouth: Mouth is under the chin. This mouth is for speaking and breathing. They can not eat with this mouth. Their lungs adapted to the helium and hydrogen environment. This mouth is hidden under their large skull for protection. The skull is larger, which contains a larger brain. These creatures are rather smart.
Fins/Plates: These plates serve for two purposes. For balance and aerodynamic efficiency.
The females' fin/aerodynamic plates are smaller than the males.
Wings: Because of low gravity, and the quantities of helium on this planet, Mercrians are light weight and have small wings. These wings are still large enogh to support them in flight.
Hands: Just like a bat, they have thumbs, plus two extra fingures. This is for grabbing. The thumbs and fingures have claws, which is their offense and defense.
Stomach: Mercrians feast like a star fish. There stomach comes out of their second mouth (below the rib cage) and acidic compounds disolve the prey. No chewing required.
Legs:Similar to humans. The femur is enlongated. These creautres are allowed to grow taller with the planet's weak gravity.
Ankles: Ankles are very thin. This is their weak spot.
Feet: Has claws and are able to grab and grip on the surface of Mercury. Mercury has a rocky terrain, like the moon. The feet are shaped to easily walk apon the surface. They may be able to walk on the surface, but they are really clumsy when running. This is why they developed wings.
